HELP SEND YULI TO COLLEGE

Everyone deserves a chance to get an education in order to have the freedom to make career choices. Unfortunately, in Mexico, it is difficult to obtain money to go to school.

Yuli lives in San Felipe and starts college in February 2009 to study computers. We sent her to high school where she made very good grades. We want her to be able to attend college, but her family makes around $5,000 per year and has other children they need to support, so they will have difficulty assisting her.

We expect it will take her 6 years to finish college because she will begin taking classes in San Felipe part time for a year or two and then will need to move to Mexicali to finish her course work.

Tuition is about $300 per quarter ($1,200 per year) and her living expenses are about $250 per month (around $3,000 per year). She works, but Mexican minimum wage is $53 pesos per day (around $5).
